MUSCULOSKELETAL COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY
Shoulder: pre-operative fracture evaluation, bone lesions
Shoulder arthrogram: internal derangement and MRI contra-indication
Elbow: pre-operative fracture evaluation, bone lesions
Elbow air arthrogram: evaluate intra-articular bodies
Wrist: evaluate fracture healing, bone lesions
Pelvis: pelvic ring and sacral fractures, bone lesions, sacro-iliitis
Hip: hip and acetabular fractures, pre-op planning for known avascular necrosis
Tibial plateau fracture: pre-operative planning for proximal tibial fractures
Pilon/triplane fracture: pre-operative planning for distal tibial fractures
Foot and ankle: pre-op planning for calcaneal fx, metatarsal fx, bone lesions
Long bone evaluation: bone lesions; specify area of interest
Osteomyelitis/abscess evaluation: bony infection, soft tissue abscess detection

MUSCULOSKELETAL MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
Non-contrast shoulder: rotator cuff tears, bursitis, fractures
Shoulder arthrogram: rotator cuff tears, labral tears
Shoulder arthrogram with ABER: shoulder dislocations and instability
Non-contrast elbow: ligament/tendon injuries, osteochondral injuries
Non-contrast wrist: scaphoid fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, soft tissue injuries
Wrist arthrogram: intrinsic/extrinsic carpal ligament, TFC tears
Hand and fingers: ligament and tendon injuries, deep lacerations
Gamekeeper’s thumb: ulnar collateral ligament tears, Stener lesions
Non-contrast hip: hip pain, tendon tears, avascular necrosis, bursitis
Hip arthrogram: labral tears
Trauma bony pelvis: fast scan for hip and pelvic insufficiency fractures
Non-contrast knee: knee pain, internal derangement, cartilage assessment
Knee arthrogram: detect meniscal re-tears after arthroscopy
Non-contrast hindfoot/ankle: ligament/tendon tears, ankle pain
Ankle arthrogram: intra-articular bodies
Non-contrast forefoot: stress fractures, forefoot pain
Morton’s neuroma: Morton’s neuroma vs intermetatarsal bursitis
Tumor/mass workup: tumor staging, palpable mass; need to specify location
Infection workup: osteomyelitis, abscesses; need to pinpoint location & ulcers
Long bone evaluation: non-joint-based pain, tibial stress fractures
Bone marrow survey: multiple myeloma staging and re-assessment
